 We
are wild and wooly ruralfems who have claimed some space online.
We get together around the virtual kitchen table to share some home made
porridge and freshly baked bread. We sit in each others' virtual window
seats and look out at fields, forests, streams, hills, plains and beaches.
We visit each other's virtual libraries, assist with calvings in the virtual
barn, plan the new virtual chicken coop, ride the virtual cattle roundup,
collaborate on poetry, stories, songs and jokes.
Together, we peruse the local newspaper,
challenge local perceptions, create organizations, watch local & state
elections. We tend our gardens, dream of solar heating systems, make natural
soaps, tend each other's pains, share each other's strength. We lessen
our isolation and generate healing places.
