The old cottage next door which I am hoping to do up for Rural Art Breaks. We call it "Creative Cottage - Ann's dream for the future." The old cottage is over a hundred years old and used to be thatched. | |

The old apple orchard in front of Creative Space Cottage. The orchard has one fine old apple tree which gives a big apple crop. I hope to restore the stone building and add a glass painting studio, and landscape the orchard into a four section garden with a central sculpture feature. The garden will be used for sculpture, stone or woodcarving and outdoor painting. | |

I noted the lack of water in the photo album- we have loads of it here. If it is not coming down from the sky on a continuous basis (which it mostly is) it is all around us in lakes and the sea. Our house has one lake up behind it which is higher than us so we can't see it, and one below us which we can see. The lake which I can look out my office window onto is called Lough Corrib, and is one of Ireland's largest lakes, it is the largest free fishing lake in Europe. This picture is the view of the castle at the opposite side of the Lake, Ashford Castle, once a home of the Guinness family, now an upper crust hotel. There are public moorings and any of us that have access to boats can slip across and walk through the grounds to an ancient village nearby called Cong. By crossing the lake, we also cross into another county, County Mayo. | |
