World Rural Women's Day in Chittagong
By Shyamoli Mazumder

Our World Rural Women's Day Observation was on October 15 at Sea Beach, Patenga, a safe and crowded area in Chittagong, Bangladesh.  Friday was a day people from all wards of the city came here and enjoyed their holiday. We could reach many people of our fixed wards (with information about our) Violence Against Women (VAW) Protection Program.

We  collected signatures on a long banner painted to project VAW. Before that a few local women and men leaders briefed about this day and requested them to give their signature and comments as other volunteers organized this.

Later on we had a Puppet show and Forum Theatre on this subject and we documented people's interaction and comments.

I like to keep contact with your organization as we need friends to work for a better society as Bangladesh is now a semi- fundamental and full corrupted country in all sectors, as women as minority we are cornered here.

Best wishes,
Shyamoli Mazumder
